World No.3 Andy Murray is using clay-court maestro Rafael Nadal for inspiration as he seeks to improve his game on clay.
Murray, who is defending his title in Madrid this week, fancies his chances since the switch to clay this year.
The 21 year-old’s last match on clay saw him fall 1-6, 6-3, 7-5 to Argentine Juan Monaco in the second round of the Rome Masters. All of his career titles have come on hard courts – including here in Madrid last year.
Murray is well aware of what he needs to improve on and Nadal is giving him determination.
