World No.2 Roger Federer will meet nemesis Rafael Nadal in what would be their 20th meeting. The Swiss defeated Argentine Juan Martin del Potro 6-3, 6-4 to improve to 25-6 for the season.
Federer will be appearing in his first final since the Australian Open (l. to Nadal) and will be looking to lift his 58th career title since triumphing in Basel (d. Nalbandian) in October 2008.
The 27 year-old improves to 5-0 lifetime and 12-0 in sets against del Potro in the second semi-final of Madrid. Federer struck eight aces, won 32 of 39 points on his first serve and converted all four break point opportunities to win in 82 minutes.
