Australian Lleyton Hewitt again faces a tough task to advance to the second round of the French Open when he comes up against No.26 seed Ivo Karlovic.
Despite not having met on clay before, Hewitt has lost his three previous encounters to the big-serving Croat and has only won one set against him.
If the Australian No.1 does pull through, he will most likely confront World No.1 Rafael Nadal.
Meanwhile, Bernard Tomic, in his second grand slam event, faces 29th seed Philipp Kohlschreiber.
Earlier this year, the 16 year-old became the youngest male to win a match at the Australian Open where he beat Italian Potito Starace. Tomic will likely to need to produce a similar effort if he is to overcome a player 327 spots higher than himself.
