Former World No.1 Juan Carlos Ferrero reached a career milestone at the AEGON Championships as he won his 400th tour-level singles match.
The Spainard advanced to the second round when two-time former finalist Sebastian Grosjean pulled the plug due to a shoulder injury, trailing 6-2, 2-1.
Ferrero won his only Grand Slam at Roland Garros in 2003 (d. Verkerk) and has won a total of 12 titles in his career. The 29 year-old is making his debut at Queen’s Club, but was a quarter-finalist at Wimbledon (l. to Federer) in 2007.
He will next face No.11 seed Paul Henri-Mathieu in the second round.
