James Blake has earned his place in the semi-finals of the AEGON Championships after defeating Mikhail Youzhny 7-6(5), 6-3 in 76 minutes.

The No.6 seed converted all three break points and won 73 percent of points on serve to go ahead 2-1 in the overall career record against his Russian opponent.

World No.16 Blake reached the 2006 Queen’s Club final (l. to Hewitt) in his second appearance in a grass court final (also 2002 Newport – l. to Dent). The 29 year-old is looking to reach his second ATP World Tour final of the season after finishing runner-up to Albert Montanes in Estoril.

Blake will meet his compatriot, Andy Roddick after the World No.6 edged out Croat Ivo Karlovic 7-6(4, 7-5(5).
