World No.4 Novak Djokovic reached his sixth final of the year after passing a difficult test by Belgian Olivier Rochus 7-6(7), 6-4 at the Gerry Weber Open.
The No.2 seed started off well, racing to a 3-0 lead. However, No.136 ranked Rochus showed his fighting qualities to break back for 4-4 and force it into a tie-break.
Rochus had his chances in the tie-break, leading 6-5 and 7-6 before the Serb hit back to win the final three points. One break of serve in the fifth game of the second set wrapped it up for Djokovic as he raced to victory in one hour and 54 minutes.
In the title match, Djokovic takes a 2-0 record over home favourite Tommy Haas, who edged out compatriot Philipp Kohlschreiber 2-6, 7-6(5), 7-6(3).
