Canadian Frank Dancevic, who had to qualify for the AEGON International in Eastbourne, advanced to his second ATP World Tour final of his career. The 24 year-old defeated veteran Fabrice Santoro 6-4, 6-4 in 84 minutes.
“It’s been a really tough road to the finals,” said Dancevic. “I’ve faced some great players but have just taken it match-by-match starting with the qualies. I actually twisted my leg in qualies and thought I wouldn’t be able to play the next day. But I’ve had some great treatment from the physios here this week. It’s been a really fun experience getting to the finals.”
The Frenchman, failed to convert all six break point opportunities he created. The World No.41 drops to 8-9 for the season, after making his first semi-final since October 208 at Moscow (l. to Kunitsyn).
Dancevic will now face Russian Dmitry Tursunov, who defeated Guillermo Garcia-Lopez 6-2, 6-2.
