World No. 866 Raemon Sluiter continued his historic run, as he disposed of Spaniard Ivan Navarro 6-7(5), 6-2, 6-3 for a place in the final of the Ordina Open. This marked Sluiter’s fourth appearance to an ATP World Tour final, where he has yet to lift the title.

The home favourite saved six of seven break points, while his opponent hit 10 aces and won 29 of 93 points on return of serve.

“My first thought was ‘Wow I’m in the final!’ It’s great,” said Sluiter. “Now I will have to continue playing like I did. Becker is on a good run reaching quarter-finals in Halle coming through qualies here. I really want to have a happy end here and win the final.”

The former World No.46 will face German Benjamin Becker, who beat compatriot Rainer Schuettler 3-6, 7-5, 6-1.
