Murray remains in contention to leapfrog Nadal

Andy Murray has moved to within 475 points of World No.2 Rafael Nadal when the ATP Rankings were released on Monday.

Nadal’s ranking points have dropped significantly with his early loss at the French Open, his withdrawal at Wimbledon and most recently his points from Hamburg (which has been downgraded to a ATP World Tour 500 event this year) a tournament he won last year.

If the Scot can win his fourth Masters title in Toronto in August, he will move ahead of Nadal regardless of the Spaniard’s result.
