Srichaphan set to return to competitive tennis

Former World No.9 Paradorn Srichaphan is set to make a return to competitive tennis as a wild card entrant into the doubles draw at the Thailand Open. The Bangkok native will team up with compatriot Danai Udomchoke at the prestigious tournament.

The 30 year-old hasn’t played since 2007, when he retired against Luis Horna at the Sony Ericsson Open first round. In the first round of his comeback Srichaphan and Udomchoke will face German-Austrian duo Michael Kohlmann and Alexander Peya.

Srichaphan is one of the finest players Thailand has produced in tennis history and has enjoyed strong performances at home, reaching the singles semi-finals in 2004-06.
