World No.6 Tomas Berdych had an excellent first half of 2010, reaching the French Open semi-finals (l. to Soderling) and the Wimbledon final (l. to Nadal). However, the 24-year old has suffered a form slump since then, accumulating an erratic win-loss record of 8-10 as opposed to a stellar 36-14 after Wimbledon.

The Czech will go into the World Tour Finals as the only player not to have won an ATP World Tour title this year and will be desperate to find some form before the Australian Open early next year. The Monte Carlo resident has said heightened expectations after his career defining performances have led to this slump and added that he will be keen to prove  that he didn’t qualify by accident.
