Roger Federer’s 2009 Wimbledon triumph brought tears of joy in one eye and tears of sadness in another. It also reinvigorated the debate on who deserves the title of the greatest player of all time.
Tennis greats Bjorn Borg and Pete Sampras have backed Federer for the title although Rod Laver has had different thoughts. The only man to have accomplished the calendar slam twice, has stated that you can be a dominant performer of your time but no one can be the best ever. However the man from Rockhampton later said if Federer could complete the calendar slam, the Swiss will be the greatest player of all time.
